In a giant step for hotel workers
everywhere, Local 2 in San Francisco won a contract
significantly advancing employees' wages and pensions,
protecting employees health benefits, gaining card check and
neutrality rights for future organizing campaigns, reducing
workload, vastly improving rights of immigrant workers, and
otherwise tying down the employees' priorities. The contract
came after a more than two-year fight in which the employers
strongly resisted each of these demands and sought regressive
takeaways.
