Isaac Nicholson joined Leonard Carder as an associate in September of 2009. His practice is focused primarily on the representation of ERISA plans in third-party tort claims and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation cases. Isaac represents union clients in other matters as well.

Prior to coming to Leonard Carder Isaac represented injured workers in California workers’ compensation cases and civil third-party actions at the Veen Firm in San Francisco. While in law school Isaac participated in the Hastings Civil Justice Clinic, representing a plaintiff in a wage and hour lawsuit. Isaac also served as a judicial extern for the National Labor Relations Board, Division of Judges, in San Francisco, and as a certified law clerk for the San Diego County Office of the Public Defender.

Isaac graduated from Hastings College of the Law in 2006, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2001 from the New School for Social Research in New York City. Prior to returning to school in 1999, Isaac worked in the building trades, as a carpenter and an electrician, and in several restaurants as a dishwasher and cook. He spends his free time with his wife Rebecca and his son Cedar, and enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, gardening, playing tennis and basketball, bird watching and following the continuing travails of the Oakland Athletics.

Isaac is admitted to practice law in California, including all Federal District Courts situated in California.
