Ms. Hwang is a partner at Leonard Carder. Her practice focuses on working with boards of trustees of multiemployer health and welfare plans and defined benefit pension plans on a variety of ERISA compliance issues, including PPA, COBRA, QDROs, HIPAA as well as participant issues. She represents welfare and pension plans in benefit claims litigation and prosecutes all stages of collection arbitration and litigation. In addition to trust and benefits work, Ms. Hwang represents public and private sector labor unions in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hwang worked in a broad range of social justice legal practice areas, including the enforcement civil rights statutes relating to discrimination in employment and education. She received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1996 and her Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in 1991. She is a member of the State Bar of California and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans.
