April 2009: California Court Rules Locked Out Grocery Workers Get Their Day In Court

 

 

Leonard Carder scored an important victory in its ongoing pro bono representation of grocery workers whom Albertsons locked out during the 2003-2004 Southern California grocery labor dispute. The State of California denied these workers unemployment benefits during the four and a half months they were locked out by Albertsons. In a published decision, the California Court of Appeal overturned the trial court’s dismissal of the grocery workers’ lawsuit, and ruled that the lawsuit should be allowed to move forward.
