Leonard Carder scored an important victory in its ongoing
pro bono representation of grocery workers whom Albertsons
locked out during the 2003-2004 Southern California grocery
labor dispute. The State of California denied these workers
unemployment benefits during the four and a half months they
were locked out by Albertsons. In a
published decision,
the California Court of Appeal overturned the trial court’s
dismissal of the grocery workers’ lawsuit, and ruled that the
lawsuit should be allowed to move forward.
