On March 11, 2005, Contra Costa
Superior Court Judge Terence Bruiniers certified a class of
approximately 850 present and former Assistant Managers at
Best Buy stores throughout California. In this class action
lawsuit, these Assistant Managers contend that Best Buy
unlawfully misclassified them as "exempt" from overtime
requirements and owes them millions of dollars in back pay.
In the wake of the Judge's ruling, the case will go forward
as a class action. |
