Arbitrator Gerald McKay, chair of
a state-appointed factfinding panel that looked into a
current impasse in labor negotiations at UC, released
the
panel's findings on February 17, 2005. McKay confirmed what
Leonard Carder partner Ari Krantz argued on behalf of the
Coalition of University Employees: UC's stated reasons for
not providing wage increases to clerical employees are "false
or unjustified," in the words of the
San Francisco Chronicle.
